Mrs. Nettie Ratcliff, 92, of Hillsboro Rt 1, died Saturday evening at Culver Memorial Hospital in Crawfordsville, where she had been a patient for one week. Mrs. Ratcliff had been in failing health for the past 3 years. Born in Fountain County, on October 6, 1874 she was the daughter of Mathias & Cathrine Marsh Livengood. She was married on Sept 16, 1897 in Covington to MA Ratcliff who preceded her in death in 1953. Mrs. Ratcliff attended the Ingersol & Frog Chapel schools, and was a member of the Livengood church until it was disbanded, at which time she became an active member of the Lutheran church at Wallace. She had lived at her present home since 1899. Survivors include a son, Gordon of Hillsboro Rt 1, 3 grandchildresn, and 11 greats. She was preceded in death by a son and 4 sisters. Services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Wallace Lutheran Church with Rev John Stacy officiating, assisted by Rev. GE Tremaine. Burial in the Lutheran Cemetery.

Waynetown - Mrs. Nettie Ratcliff, 94, living southwest of here Rt. 1, Hillsboro died at 6:40 p.m. Saturday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville after an illness of three years. She had been hospitalized a week. A daughte rof Mathias and Catherine Marsh Liengood, she was born Oct 6, 1874 in Fountain County. She married M.A. Ratcliff Sept 16, 1897 at Covington. She attended Ingersoll & Frog Chapel schools. Except for the first two years, in Parke County, all her married life wa sspent in the present homestead on Ind 32 near here. Mrs. Ratcliff was a member of the Livengood Church until it was disbanded, then became an active member of the Wallace Lutheran Church. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Daisy Ratcliff of Rt 1, Hillsboro; three grandchildren, Lowell Ratcliff of Rt. 1 Hillsboro and Leon Ratcliff of Waveland and Mrs. Alberta Pugh of Rensselaer; 11 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1953, a son in infancy and four sisters, Vina Underwood; Phrona Bell; Emily Thomas and Lily Wilkinson. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wallace Lutheran Church where the body will lie in state from 1 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. John Stacy, assisted by Rev. J.E. Tremaine. Friends may call at Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown from 3 p.m. Monday until noon Tuesday.

In 1897 at Covington she was married to MA Ratcliff who died in 1953. Surviving is one son, Gordon Ratcliff of Rt 1, Hillsboro.
