Mrs. Delbert Ratcliff, 28, became Fountain County's 2nd polio death this year. Mrs. Ratcliff, stricken last week died Tuesday afternoon at the Lake View Hospital in Danville. Mrs. Ratcliff was born November 4, 1921 in Hillsboro the daughter of Ora & Osa Whitaker. She was married May 24, 1941 to Delbert Ratcliff and they made their home in the Kingman community. She was a member of the Centen EUB Church and Kingman Order of Eastern Star. Surviving is the husband, a daughter, Mary Caroline; her parents, 3 brothers, Charles of Detroit; Herman of Waynetown; and William of Hillsboro; two sister, Mrs. Gertrude Mattingly of Detroit and Edith of Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 at the Centenial Church near Kingman. Burial at Masonic Cemetery, Waynetown

Kingman, Nov 16 - Mrs. Mary Alice Ratcliffe, 28, of near Kingman, died Tuesday afternoon of polio at Lakeview Hospital in Danville, Ill. She had been ill about three weeks. Born November 4, 1921 near Hillsboro, Mrs. Ratcliffe was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ora Whitaker. She married Delbert Ratcliffe May 24, 1941. She was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Centennial Church and Order of Eastern Star in Kingman. Surviving are the husband; the parents, a daughter, Caroline, three brothers, Charles Whitaker, Detroit, Mich; Homer Whitaker, Waynetown and William Whitaker of Hillsboro and two sisters, Gertrude Whitaker of Detroit, Mich and Edith Whitaker of Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Centennial Church with burial at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Alice Ratcliff, age 28, wife of Delbert Ratcliff of Kingman, died at about 3:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 15, 1949 in Lake View Hospital, Danville, a victim of polio. She had been in the hospital 13 days.
Mrs. Ratcliff was born Nov. 4, 1921 at Hillsboro, the daughter of Ora and Osa Whitaker. She married Mr. Ratcliff May 24, 1941. She was a member of Centennial Church and the Kingman OES Lodge.
Surviving beside the husband are a daughter, Mary Carolyn; the parents; three brothers, Charles Whitaker, Detroit, Herman Whitaker, Waynetown, and William Whitaker of Hillsboro; and two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Mattingly, Detroit and Edith Whitaker, Crawfordsville.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Centennial EUB Church near Kingman. Burial was in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery with the Spencer Funeral Home, Kingman, in charge.
