Mrs. Mabel Ratcliff, 75, resident of 717 2nd Street died at 10 p. m. Sunday at Lakeview Memorial Hospital in Danville, Ill where she had been a patient since April 2. Mrs. Ratcliff was born Dec 8 1890 at Marshall, a daughter of Anderson and Rebecca Chapman Teague. She married Claude Ratcliff Feb 19, 1913. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Fountain Chapter 204 of OES at Kingman and Covington HDS and Book Lovers Club. A graduate of Marshall HS Mrs. Ratcliff attended Indiana State Teachers Normal at Terre Haute (ISU) and taught schools in Parke County for two years. She was active in church work all f her life and taught a Sunday School class most of her life. After marriage, mrs. Ratcliff lived on a farm near Kingman. She had reside din Covington 15 years. Survivors include her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Shaffer of Danville, Ill; a son Delbert Ratcliff of Rt 2, Kingman, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Rena Nelson of Columbus, Ohio. She was precedeceased by 3 sons and two sisters. Funeral services are set for 2 p. m. Wednesday at the First Methodist Church with Rev. Don Ashley officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Tuesday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home.
