Being of a retiring disposition she spetn her life time for her home. When trouble came into the home of a friend she was always ready to do the little things which would make another's burdens lighter and thus observed she bestowed her blessings. After a short illness she departed life AUg 26, 1910 at the age of 51 Y 7M 9D, leaving to mourn her loss, 4 sisters, two having preceded her to the Great Beyond, 2 brothers, an adopted son, Scott E and a loving husband upon whom falls the sad and heavy burden of loss. Mrs. Ratcliff was a woman held in the very highest esteem by all who knew her. She possessed that pure character to be the friend of every one and lived that the world might be the better by her being a part of it. She was a noble companion and an ideal friend and her death many are bowed in the deepest grief while her sorrow stricken husband and they to whom she was most dear have the sincere sympathy of everyone in their dark hours but they find that sweet consolation in the realization that she lived a life that death is only to awaken in a home eternal a home not made by hands.
