  Funeral services for John William Ransom, 68, of Kingman Route 2 near Cates who died at 11 a.m. last Friday at the Fountain County Home, north of Covington, were held last Monday morning at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home. The body was taken to Anderson, Ind. for burial in the Maplewood Cemetery there.

  Mr. Ransom was born May 17, 1881 in Benton County, Ind., the son of Frank and Isabelle McClaren Ransom. He had been in ill health for some time and death followed a cerebral hemorrhage.

  Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Maude Lowes Ransom, of Anderson, who he married Oct. 20, 19_5; one brother, Clarence Ransom of Mount Bellow, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. -  S&E
