COVINGTON, Ind. (CNS) -- Arthur O. Ramsey, 80, resident of Peoria for the past 20 years, died at 3 a.m. Friday (Dec. 20, 1968) at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria where he had been a patient for one week. He had been ill for one month. Mr. Ramsey was born in Vermilion County, Ill., the son of Thomas and Margaret White Ramsey. He was born June 1, 1888. He married Della Dixon on Feb. 9, 1907, who preceded him in death on Nov. 24, 1941. He married Ethel Nevins, who died in 1966. He was a minister all of his life for the EUB Church and United Methodist Church. He was a member of Joe Robbins AF&AM Masonic Lodge in Peoria, the Peoria Consistory and the Peoria Shrine. He was an ex-captain in the U.S. Army Chaplain Corp., and a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Bonebrake Seminary. He was a minister from 1919 to 1953 at Rockford, Ill., Lawrenceville and Peoria, Ill. Survivors include a son, Glen Ramsey of Austin, Tex., a daughter, Mary Margaret Graham of Peoria, two grandsons, and one granddaughter. Friends will be received at the Hegg Funeral Home Saturday afternoon and evening. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Benson Chapel with the Rev. Charles Williams officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery. --waw
