VEEDERSBURG -- Funeral services for Lester Rainey, age 61, former New York Central Railroad section foreman in Veedersburg and father of Gordon Rainey of Covington, who died Monday morning, Oct. 5, at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville, were held at 2 p. m. today, Oct. 7, at the Power Funeral Home in Crawfordsville. The Rev. John Servies officiated and burial was in the Masonic Cemetery. Mr. Rainey, who had been a patient in the hospital two days, was born March 16, 1903, the son of William P. and Margaret Smith Rainey. He had been a railroad employee for 42 years and had moved to Crawfordsville seven years ago. He married in 1927 to Mary Carroll of Crawfordsville and she survives. He was a past master of the Veedersburg Masonic Lodge. Other survivors include: two sons, Donald of Crawfordsville and Gordon of Covington; four daughters, Mrs. Allan Harvey of Thorntown, Mrs. Richard McMurray Jr., of Spencer, Mrs. Frank Turpin, of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Dean Mickle of Attica; two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Leslie and Mrs. John Wilson, both of Crawfordsville, and 19 grandchildren.   --typed by Walt W
