ATTICA — John Lester Rainey, 65, 505 Canada St., Attica, died at 9:10 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2002 in St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. He was born June 5, 1936 in Bedford, the son of William and Thelma Bernice Roach Rainey. He married Sheryl J. Neal Jan 19, 1980. She survives. He had been a resident of Attica for the past 25 years. He was a machine operator for Harrison Steel Casting Company for 22 years. Survivors, besides the wife, are their children: Kevin Rainey, Attica, Crystal (Douglas Scott) Rainey-Beckett, Williamsport, two step daughters, Diana Flickinger, Attica and Maria Bannon, Brookston, a son, Johnny Rainey, Lafayette, four daughters, Tammy Chele, Montpelier, Debbie Rainey, Anderson, Sherry Rainey, Tennessee and Kristi Rainey; four brothers, Bill Rainey and Jerry Rainey, both of Lafayette, Jack Rainey, Newport and Mike Rainey, Williamsport; three sisters, Linda Stichster and Wanda Owens, Lafayette and Darlene Hergett, Florida; and six grandchildren, Abigail, Colton, Josh, Jacob, Marlena and Samantha. Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with the Rev. Brian Shaw officiat-…….. – jlr
