Golda O (French) Pevler, 98, formerly of Wingate and had been residing with her daughter at 805 E. Jackson, Attica died Friday Aug 30, 1996 at 1:50 p.m. in the County Care Nursing Center, Williamsport. She was born in Newtown, Indiana on the17 December 1897. She was the daughter of Charles H. and Anna E. Overbay French. She had lived for many years in Wingate and was a graduate of Wingate High School in 1917. She later lived with a granddaughter in Noblesville and with her daughter until moving to the nursing center in 1994. She was a homemaker and a member of the Wingate United Methodist Church. She was married to Carl C. Pevler on Dec 29, 1917. He preceded her in death on Oct 18, 1962 and had formerly owned and operated Pevler Plumbing & Heating in Wingate. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Maxine Meredith, Attica; a granddaughter, Mrs. Teri-Ann Slauter, Noblesville, 2 great grandchildren, Brian Slauter, Pence; Mrs. Kristin Barrett, Indianapolis; 2 great great grandchildren, Zachary Dalton and Jessie Leigh Barrett. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jamie Gates. There were graveside services and burial held in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wingate on Sunday, Sept 1, 1996 at 2 p.m. with Jr. Haas officiating. There was no visitation.
