PENCE, Genevieve (Jean) Gertrude - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Genevieve (Jean) Gertrude Pence, 58, Rt. 3, Williamsport, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, Ill., 2:55 p.m. Monday.  She had been a patirnt there since Dec., 18.  Sge had been in ill health the past year and a half, seriously ill the past five months.

Mrs. Pence was born in South Bend on Aug. 20, 1911, the daughter of Anthony and Carrie Polklinski Labis.  She had lived in South Bend most of her life, coming to Warren County in 1911.  She was married May 20, 1931, at La Porte to Newton Pence, who survives.  The family was engaged in farming.  She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church.

Surviving with the husband are two sons, Clifford Pence of West Lebanon; Norman Dean Pence , Mission Viejo, California; two sisters, Mrs. Mrs. Harriet Bogucki and Mrs Thresa Bates, both of South Bend; three brothers, Clement Labis, Harry Labis and George Labis, all of South Bend.  Three brothers and sisters preceeded her in death.  Five grandchildren also survive

Friends will be received at DeSutter Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.  Rosary services will be held in DeSutter Chapel 9 p.m. Wednesday.  Funeral services will be in St. Francis Xavier Church 10 a.m. Thursday, with Rev. Charles Remaklus officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Attica, with DeSutter Funeral Home in Charge.

Funeral services for Genevieve (Jean) Pence, Rt. 3, Williamsport, who died at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., were held at St. Francis Xavier Church 10 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Charles Remaklus officiating.

Serving as pallbearers were George Labis, Tom Pence, Larry Bates, Ronnie DeVoss, Dick DeVoss, Dan DeVoss.

Interment follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Attica, with DeSutter Funeral Home in Charge.
