PAXTON, Ernest

Ernest Paxton, 88 of rural Perrysville died at 11:12 p.m. Saturday Sept 26, 1992 at Vermillion County Hospital, Clinton.  Mr. Paxton was a retired farmer.  He had worked at Coffing Brothers Orchard near Covington for 30 years.  He worked at the Crawfordsville Casket Company for 21 years and Hi-Tex Brickyard for 11 years.  He was a member of Cayuga Presbyterian Church and Eagles Lodge #1005 Crawfordsville.  He was born in Montgomery County, Sept 21 1904 a son of William Lee and Edna Benne (Weliver) Paxton.  On June 6, 1931 he married Beulah Mullins.  She  preceded him in death on Oct 2, 1908.  Surviving are four daughters, Nondas Fite of Indianapolis; Irene Norman and Patsy Moody, both of rural Kingman and Brenda  Fultz of rural Perrysville; two sons, Fred Paxton of rural Veedersburg and Lawrence “Dick” Paxton of Ridge Farm, Ill; two half sisters, 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Two half brothers and a half sister.  Visitation was Monday at Woodrow Funeral Home, Kingman. Service at the funeral home is Tuesday with David Mason officiating. Interment at Mt. Hope, Covington. –-- kbz
