PATTON, Belle

Mrs. Belle Patton, 84, a life-time resident of Veedersburg died at 5 o’clock Tuesday at the Knights of Pythias home in Lafayette where she had lived for the past six months.  She was born in the vicinity of Veedersburg, the daughter of Robert and Rebecca Mitchell and was married to Edward Patton who preceded her in death two years ago.  She was a charter member of the Valetta Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Presbyterian Church.  Mr. and Mrs. Patton spent their entire married life in this community where they were deservingly popular, active in club and social organizations and had many fine friends.  She is survived by a son, Robert Patton of Indianapolis.  Service will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 p.m.  The Order of the Eastern Star and Rev. OW McGaughey will be in charge.  The body has been returned to the J. Fred Parham funeral home.     ~~~transcribed by kbz
