QUIGGLE, Oscar

Oscar Quiggle, for many years a farmer in the Veedersburg neighborhood and later, until a few years ago, janitor at Culver hospital, died at his home in Crawfordsville Thursday evening. Mr. Quiggle's death followed a stroke which he suffered a week ago. He was 76 years of age. Mr. Quiggle was born in the Veedersburg vicinity Sept. 26, 1875, the son of John Quiggle and Corelia Cornell Quiggle. Mr. Quiggle was twice married. Both wives preceded him in death. He was first married to Julia Keeling and following her death to Belle Clawson. Both of them also resided in the Veedersburg neighborhood. Mr. Quiggle retired from farming near Veedersburg and came to Crawfordsville to reside about 10 years ago. Survivors include: son, Ralph Quiggle, of Indianapolis; three daughters, Mrs. Vera Songer, of Covington; Mrs. Ethel Ruff, of Cincinnati, O., and Mrs. Verna Reynolds, of Plymouth, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Elsie Songer, of Veedersburg. There are also four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren surviving. The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p. m. at the Union Christian church. The body will be taken to the church from the funeral home during the noon hour Sunday to lie in state for one hour before the service. Burial will be made in the Union cemetery, near Veedersburg.
