Colfax—William Lee Purvis, 95, Colfax, died at 4:35 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 1989 in Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Fort Wayne.
He was born July 5, 1893 in Warren County, the son of Alfred and Emma Viola Houghton Purvis. He was married Sept. 4, 1918 at Greencastle, to Lettie Ellen Bridges, who preceded him in death Sept. 12, 1973.
He was a farmer and a lifelong resident of Colfax. He was a member of Colfax United Methodist church and Colfax Odd fellows Lodge.
Surviving are a son, Charles, Fort Wayne; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today (Friday) in Eller-Weston Funeral Home, Frankfort. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Colfax. Friends may call one hour prior to the services. – thanks to S
