Hillsboro, Ind Aug 15 – A gloom has been cast over Hillsboro and vicinity by the death of Miss Susie, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Pursley, Wednesday evening about 10 o’clock. The death of Miss Pursley comes as a shock to every one. While she had been suffering from stomach trouble for the past two years she was not thought to be in a serious condition. The past week she had been complaining of not feeling so well but had not been confined to her bed. Early Wednesday morning she was taken suddenly worse and a local physician was called and it was then learned that she was critically ill. Dr. Clark, a specialist from Indianapolis, arrived about 6 o’clock in the evening. Miss Susie was 21 years of age and was born and reared near this place. She had musical talent and was a very brilliant high school student, having graduated from the Hillsboro HS in the class of 1912. In the early spring she entered DePauw University and her future plans were to obtain a college education. She was held in high esteem by the many warm friends she had won on every side, who are brought to grief by her death and the deepest sympathy of all is extended to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pursley in their sorrow.-kbz
