VEEDERSBURG — Edward Clinton Pundt, 78, Veedersburg, died at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 1999 at his home, following a lengthy illness. Born May 13, 1921 in Danville, Ill., he was the son of Paul Adolph and Maude Vivian Carter Pundt. He married Alice Sasseen Jan. 14, 1942 in Danville, who survives. He was a truck driver for many years for Cossey Martin Coal Co. in Danville, Ill., retiring in 1985. He resided in Veedersburg for 20 years and was a former resident of Danville, Ill. Survivors, besides his wife, include: sons Robert (Clara) Pundt, Edward W. (Kay) Pundt, both of Danville, Charles (Diane) Pundt, Bismarck, John (Sheila) Pundt, Kenesaw, Ga., David (Carol) Pundt, Marshall, Ronald (Barbara) Pundt, Danville, and Gregory Pundt, Gifford, Ill.; daughter Joyce (Andrew) Karushis, Veedersburg,; sisters, Mary Shank, Theodora Sedlak, both of Danville, and Ellen Fitzgerald, California; 36 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and eight brothers and sisters. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with the Rev. Father Leroy Kinnaman officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Covington. – jlr
