Veedersburg -- George Isley Pullen, age 70, a native of the Veedersburg community, died Friday Sept 20 at his home in Sacrmento, Calif. He had been ill the past year. He was the son of George and Bessie Isley Pullen and had resided the early part of his life in Veedersburg. He retired after being associated with the Standard Oil Co. for several years. Survivors include his wife, Ada, his father, George, a sister, Mrs. Virginia Dowden; and a brother, Raph all of the Sacramento area. Three cousins, Mrs. Fred Young, Mrs. Alpha Keller and Mrs. Cecil Pearson all of Veedersburg also survive. Services and burial were held in Sacramento Monday Sept 23.

George Isley Pullen, who lived in the Veedersburg community as a boy, died in Sacramento, Calif where he had lived many years, relatives here have been notified. He was a son of George and Bessie Isley Pullen. His mother was a native of Fountain County. In the early 60s he had retired after a number of years of service with the Standard Oil Co. Survivors include his wife, Adah; the father, George Pullen; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Dowdin; a brother, Ralph Pullen and a nephew, LeRoy Dowdin all of Sacramento. Funeral and burial took place in the California city. Three cousins lived in the Veedersburg community, Mrs. Fred Young, Mrs. Alpha Keller and Mrs. Cecil Pearson. – kbz
