Attica – Archie Clyde Pugh, 55, local taxi company operator, died at 7 pm. Thursday in his office at 105 ½ East Main Street. He had worked all day Thursday and after dinner in his home at 601 Fifth Street had returned to the office when he was stricken. Born at Williamsport, he was a lifelong resident of that town and Attica. He was married March 31, 1943 to Inez Craft. He had worked for Harrison Steel Casting Company for 11 years and was in the taxicab business seven years. Surviving besides the widow are five daughters, Mrs. Laurena Johnson of Newtown; Mrs. Maxine Wagner of Ketchikan, Alaska; Mrs. Betty Lawson of Attica; Mary Arnetta and Joan, at home; a son, Robert A. Pugh of Attica and a brother, Frank Pugh of Seymour. Friends may call at Coffing & Robinson Funeral Home, Attica after 4 p.m. Friday. Services there at 2 p.m. Sunday Rev. Everett White officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery Attica. Eight grandchildren survive.
