PRITCHETT, Noble

Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal Saturday, 28 November 1874

Last Friday at the residence of James McKinney, near Boswell, in Benton County, a shooting affray took place which will likely result in the death of Noble Pritchett.

It appears that a man by the name of Robinson had had some of the goods belonging to McKinney sold at Constable’s sale, and after the sale Robinson and McKinney had some words together, and were fast coming to blows, when Pritchett, who was present, tapped McKinney on the shoulder and told him to stand up to it and not back out. This diverted Robinson’s attention to him, and he picked up, and some say he finally threw a stone at Pritchett. The latter then drew a revolver and fired but missed Robinson, who then returned the fire twice, the second shot hitting Pritchett in the left shoulder and side.—Attica Ledger
