Covington—Reatha V. Powell, 75, Covington, died at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 1989 at United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville, Ill.

  She was born June 16, 1913 in Fountain County, the daughter of Granville and Mary B. Maiden Grubb. She was married June 27, 1932 at Noblesville, to Chester F. Powell, who preceded her in death Dec. 26, 1982.

  She was a life resident of the Covington area and a 1931 graduate of Covington High School. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, willing Builders Sunday School Class, Ladies’ Missionary Group and Covington Senior Citizens’ Band. She enjoyed bowling and shuffleboard.

  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Beverly Phipps, Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Chris (Virginia) Hunsaker, Yale, Ill.; a son, Dale F., Route 1, Covington; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by six brothers, a sister and a grandson.

  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today (Tuesday) at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with Robert Hentrich and Randy Collins officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.- thanks to S
