ATTICA, Ind. (CNS) — Mrs. Leona Pauline Powell, 73, of Stockwell, died at 1:35 a.m. today (March 20, 1975) at St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette shortly after admission. She had been ill for three years. Born March 26, 1901, near Hillsboro, she was the daughter of Leo and Jessie Steele Rice. On Dec. 24, 1917, in Danville, Ill., she was married to Homer Benton Powell, who died May 4, 1967. Mrs. Powell was a resident of Stockwell for the past nine months and formerly resided at Riverside on Attica Route 2. She also resided at West Lebanon and in Warren County. She was a housewife and had attended school near Hillsboro. A member of the Assembly of God Church at Attica, she had attended the Miracle Bethel Church near Stockwell. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Don (Florence) Wallace of Attica, Mrs. Jessie Morris of Stockwell, Mrs. Ivan (Dorothy) Finch of Kentland, Mrs. Gus (Christine) Raab of Haugen, Wis., and Mrs. Ed (Edna) Likins of Bloomington; a son, John Powell of Rob Roy; three sisters, Mrs. Gordon (Helen) Hilt of Shadeland, Mrs. Edna Jackson of Little Rock, Ark., and Mrs. Dorothy Mariotti of Ohio; a brother, Garnet Rice of Lafayette; 26 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the Dale Maus Funeral Home. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Valorie Clymer officiating. Burial will follow in the West Lebanon Cemetery. --typed by Walt W
