WAYNETOWN – Frank “Nick” Powell, 71, of Waynetown, died Tuesday evening in Lakeview Hospital at Danville, Ill. Born near Hillsboro, he owned and operated Industrial Bus Line out of Montgomery County to Alcoa in Lafayette from 1938 until retiring in 1972. In 1927 he was married to Dorothy Harper, who died in 1973. Mr. Powell was a member of Oddfellows Lodge of Waynetown and Eagles Lodge of Crawfordsville. Surviving are one son, Harold “Bob” Powell of Crawfordsville; and one sister, Mrs. Irvin (Ruth) Davis of Linden. – jlr

Waynetown - Frank "Nick" Powell, 71 of Waynetown, owner and operator of an industrial bus line out of Montgomery County to the Alcoa Aluminum Co at Lafayette for 34 years died Tuesday evening at Lakeview Hospital at Danville, Ill. He was a member of IOOF at Waynetown; Eagles Lodge at Crawfordsville and Father's Auxiliary of VFW. He was born near Hillsboro Nov 20, 1906 a son of Hiram and Jenny Livengood Powell. He was married to Dorothy M. Harper Oct 1, 1927. She died Oct 31, 1973. Surviving are a son, Harold "Bob" {Powell of Crawfordsville; a sister, Mrs. Irvin (Ruth Davis) of Linden; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday in Thomas Funeral Home here with Rev. Dorman Winger officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday. - kbz
