Olie Emory Potter, 71, of 508 Brady St., Attica, passed away at his residence Saturday, January 8, 1977 at 8:50 p.m., having been ill for three months.

  He was born at Williamsport, In., on March 21, 1905, the son of Robert Frank and Rose E. Marlow Potter. He had moved to Attica in 1950 and was married February 25, 1950 at Attica to Mamie E. Griggs.

He was retired from Harrison Steel Casting Co where he had been employed for 22 years and was a former deputy sheriff at Rankin, Ill. He was a veteran of World War Ii serving in the Army. He was a member of the Attica Christian Church.

  Surviving besides the wife are two stepsons, Gerald V. Griggs of Theodosia, Mo.; Edward R. Griggs of Lafayette; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Thelma L. Hess of Arlington, Va.; one brother, Floyd M. Potter of Anderson, In.; one sister, Mrs. Robert Taylor of Gibson City, Ill.; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

  One stepson, Clifford Griggs preceded him in death.

  Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Dale Maus Funeral Home in Attica, with the Rev. Don Green officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery in Attica. – thanks to S
