Mrs. Emma Elender Potter, age 97, who for about 45 years made her home with her son, Ervile Henderson, Veedersburg Rt. 4, died at 3:10 p. m. Sunday, June 10, at the Allen Nursing Home in Attica where she had been a patient for two years. She had been bedfast 15 years. Mrs. Potter was born Aug. 27, 1864 in Owen County, Ind., the daughter of Henry and Nancy Sciscoe Boruff. She was married twice, first to Hendrix Henedrson on Oct. 29, 1882 and he preceded her in death Aug. 24, 1895. She later married Elijah Potter, who also preceded her in death Sept. 27, 1915. She lived in Owen County until the death of her first husband when she moved to Vermilion County, Ill., where she resided at Eight Mile Prairie, northwest of Danville. She had made her home with her son since 1915, following the death of her second husband. Mrs. Potter was the last of a family of 11 brothers and sisters. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Bismarck, Ill., and had attended the Seventh Street Church of Christ here since moving to the area in 1931. Surviving, in addition to her son, are: two stepchildren, Mrs. Daisy Fairchild of Henning, Ill., and Jewell Potter of Danville, Ill.; two grandsons, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one stepson, Dr. George Potter in Danville, in 1944. Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock this afternoon, June 13, at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here. The Rev. She later married to Elijah Potter who also preceded her in death.  Survivors include one son, Erville Henderson of Veedersburg Rt 4; two step children, Mrs. Daisy Fairchild of Henning and Jewell Potter of Danville; two grandsons and 7 great grandchildren.  She also was preceded in death by a step son, Dr. George Potter of Danville. Services were at 3 p.m. Wed at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. Billy Ringold officiated. Burial was in Gundry Cemetery near Bismarck. – kbz
