W. Irvin Poston of Attica, age 84, died Thursday night, December 10, in Williamsport Community Hospital after apparently suffering a heart attack at his home. He was born in Logan, Ohio, December 3, 1897, the son of Clarence and Ella Dill Poston. June 8, 1921, he married Martha Barnhill, who died June 27, 1971.

  An active member of civic and charitable organizations, he had been an elder, trustee and treasurer of Attica-Williamsport United Presbyterian Church. He was a charter member and past president of Attica-Williamsport Rotary Club, a member of Wabash Masonic Lodge, Indianapolis Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine and Western Indiana Shrine Club.
He was a partner and sales manager of Poston-Herron Brick Company until it was sold in 1960 and was treasurer of the Fountain County Red Cross Chapter for several years. He was a member-at-large of the National Council of Boy Scouts of America and served with the Army during World War I.

  Surviving are a daughter, Margaret Ann Poston at home; a son, Irvin Emerson of Birmingham, Michigan; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

  The body was taken from Maus Funeral Home in Attica to the Attica-Williamsport United Presbyterian Church for funeral services Sunday afternoon. Rev. Kenneth Burris officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Attica. -s
