Veedersburg—Harley Russell Poston, Route 4, Veedersburg, died at 10:40 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 1989 at his home. He had been seriously ill since October.
He was born Nov. 2, 1928 at Gwynneville, Ind., the son of Russell and LaVon Wilson Poston. He was married March 28, 1958 to Joycelyn Walton, who survives.
He had been a resident of Veedersburg since 1959 and was a former resident of Indianapolis and Gwynneville. He was a graduate of Morristown High School and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He had been a nursing assistant at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville, Ill., for 30 years and was also employed at Parham-Shelby Funeral Home, Veedersburg, for several years.
He was a member of Gwynneville Christian Church, Morristown Lodge No. 193 F&AM, Scottish Rite, Valley of Terre Haute, Murat Shrine and Charles Forest Post No. 288 American Legion.
Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Mike (Stephanie) Rainey, Williamsport; Mrs. Tom (Shelley) Triol, Indianapolis, and Sharri Poston, at home; two grandsons, Scott and Adam Rainey; two sisters, Selma gross, Newell, S. D., and Alberta Beaver, Indianapolis.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Parham-Shelby Funeral Home, Veedersburg. Funeral services will be there at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery with military graveside services. -s-
