PORTER, Minnie Cronk Hershberger

Word was received in Hillsboro Monday of the death of Mrs. Minnie Porter, 66, former resident of Hillsboro, who died at 3:30 a.m. Monday at a hospital in Watseka, Illinois. She was the wife of Ray Porter, of Kentland. Three months ago she suffered a broken hip in a fall into the basement at her home in Kentland and was removed to the Watseka hospital. Pneumonia developed recently leaving her with a heart ailment that caused her death. Mrs. Porter was the daughter of Allen and Dora Cronk and was born near Hillsboro where she grew to womanhood. Mr. and Mrs. Porter had resided in Kentland for several years. Besides the husband she leaves one son, Henry Hershberger, of Attica; three brothers, William and Freeman Cronk, of Hillsboro, and Fred Cronk, of Mechanicsburg; and two sisters, Mrs. Della LaBaw, of Hillsboro and Mrs. Iva Keller, of near Veedersburg.
The funeral service was held from the Methodist church in Kentland, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock with burial in the Kentland cemetery. -- dcd
