MELLOTT—Morris Pool, 67-year-old former Fountain County resident, was fatally stricken Friday evening while he and his wife were en route from their home in Monticello to Florida. According to word received here Saturday, the couple had stopped at a motel in Bowling Green, Ky. when Mr. Pool was stricken. He reportedly died en route to a hospital. Mr. Pool farmed in Fountain County for several years before he and his wife moved to the Monticello area. He continued to farm there until his retirement. Born Dec. 11, 1898, at Vanceburg, Ky., he was a son of Paris and Minnie Hanna Pool. He was married to Gladys Martin of Covington. Survivors in addition to the widow include two sons, James and Robert, both of Monticello; three sisters, Mrs. John (Bee) Kell of near Mellott, Mrs. Fred (Helen) Brier of Attica and Mrs. Dorothy Gebhart of Cedar Key, Fla.; and three brothers, Willard of South Bend and Ralph and Floyd, both of Veedersburg. COVINGTON --A former resident of Fountain County and the husband of a former Covington woman, Morris Pool, age 67, of Monticello, was stricken with a heart attack and died en route to a hospital Friday night, Jan. 7, in Bowling Green, Ky. Mr. Pool and his wife, the former Gladys Martin of Covington, were en route to Florida to spend the winter when his death occurred. He had farmed in the Fountain County area for a number of years. Several years ago he moved to a farm near Monticello. He was retired. Mr. Pool was born Dec. 11, 1898, in Vanceburg, Ky., the son of Paris and Minnie Hanna Pool. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: two sons, James and Robert, both of Monticello; three sisters, Mrs. John (Bee) Kell of Richland Twp., Mrs. Fred (Helen) Brier of Attica and Mrs. Dorothy Gebhart of Cedar Key, Fla. and three brothers, Willard of South Bend, and Ralph and Floyd of Veedersburg. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Miller Funeral Home in Monticello. Burial was in the Bedford Cemetery at Monon. --typed by Walt W
