PONDER, William Robert

William Robert Ponder of RR 4, Veedersburg, age 65, died Thursday afternoon, May 20, at his home. He was born near Berea, Kentucky, August 20, 1916, the son of May Smith and Patty Terrel Ponder. October 18, 1937, he married Mildred Nicklas, who survives. Ponder was a farmer and drove a school bus for 26 years. He also had been employed at Harrison Steel Casting Company and DeKalb Seed Company.

  Also surviving are a daughter, Donna Walker of Veedersburg; a son, Dallas J. of Veedersburg; two sisters, Gladys Keister and Ann Ruggles, both of Danville, Illinois; a brother, Luther of Danville; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Richard Throckmorton officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery at Covington. – thanks to S
