NEWTOWN—Wren Poffinbarger, 88, died at his home here at 9 p.m. Saturday after a three-year illness. He had been critically ill a week. Born Jan. 16, 1871, in Maryland, he was the son of William and Mandy Smith Poffinbarger. He was married Oct. 6, 1915, to Ettie Pierce. Mr. and Mrs. Poffinbarger had lived here since 1920. Survivors include the wife, two nephews and a niece. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Baptist Church here with Rev. George Phelps, pastor of the church, in charge. The body will lie in state in church one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Newtown Cemetery. Friends may call at De Sutter Funeral Home at Attica Monday evening. --typed by Walt W
