POET, Florence Harper - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

TERRE HAUTE — Florence Evelyn (Harper) Poet, 73, 2001 N. 28th St., Terre Haute, died at 3:22 a.m. Monday, Sept. 6, 1999 in Union Hospital, Terre Haute. Born Nov. 6, 1925 in Winthrop, she was the daughter of Frank and Blanche Reynolds Harper. She married William L. Poet Sept. 29, 1956 in Covington. He preceded her in death May 9, 1994. She was raised in Warren County and attended Williamsport High School. She formerly resided in Attica and in 1964 relocated to Carbon for 26 years before moving to Terre Haute in 1990. She was a homemaker. Survivors include: daughter, Connie Sue (Robert) Gilmore, Terre Haute; sons, Kenneth Robert “K B” Wethington and Frankie Joe Wethington, both of Attica; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sisters; a brother; two grandsons; and a granddaughter. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with the Rev. George P. Weister officiating. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until service time. – jlr
