Mrs. Laura Belle Plunkett, 80, died Tuesday morning at her home five miles southeast of the city. She had been in failing health for several months. She was born Jan 27, 1885 near Waveland, the daughter of Lemuel and Lida Miles Bayless. She was married Oct 2, 1904 to Everett Plunkett who preceded her in death. The family had lived on the arm since 1927. The survivors include a son, Earl Plunkett of near Kingman, a daughter, Mrs. Homer Steele of west of Crawfordsville; two brothers, George Bayless of Crawfordsville and Jesse Bayless of Wallace; six grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. Two daughters preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 2:30 pm. Thursday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Howard F. Miller, pastor of the First Christian Church in charge. Burial will be in Waynetown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
