Iva B. Pitzer, 88, formerly of 409 N Sixth St, Attica who had been residing at Woodland Manor Nursing Center since 1984, died at Home Hospital, Lafayette Sunday at 3:04 p.m. She had been a patient since Oct 26 and had been in failing health for some time. She was born in Fountain County Sept 4, 1898 the daughter of Abraham and Sena Savanah Swafford Auter. She had formerly resided near Stone Bluff and had been a resident of Attica since 1960. She married Oct 4, 1917 at Sterling Charles Ray Pitzer who preceded her in death in 1957. She attended school at Rob Roy and along with her husband had farmed near Veedersburg most of their lives. She attended the Christian Church at Portland Arch and was a member of Ladies Aid of the church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Inez) Snouwaert, Rt 1, West Point; one granddaughter, Mrs. Brenda Hutson, Lafayette, who was reared in Mrs. Pitzer's home; one sister, Mrs. Blanche Marr, Covington; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son, 3 sisters and one grandson. Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services wil be held 10 a.m. Thursday in Maus Chapel with Rev. Everett White officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.

Attica – Mrs. Iva B. Pitzer, 88, formerly of 409 N Sixth St, Attica died at 3:04 p.m. Sunday in Home Hospital, Lafayette. She had been a resident of Woodland Manor Nursing Center since 1984 and in failing health for some time. Born in Fountain County, Sept 4, 1898 she lived near Stone Bluff in Fountain County before moving to Attica in 1960. She attended school in Rob Roy. Her marriage was Oct 4, 1917 in Sterling, Ind to Charles Ray Pitzer. He died in 1957. Mrs. Pitzer farmed with her husband in and around the Veedersburg area most of her life. She attended the Christian Church in Portland Arch and was formerly a member of Ladies Aid at the church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Inez) Snouwaert of Rt 1, West Point; one sister, Mrs. Blanche Marr of Covington and a granddaughter who was reared in her home, Mrs. Brenda Hutson of Lafayette.
