BARSTOW, Calif. — Mary Margaret
(McConahay) Pitt, 71, a resident of Barstow, Calif., died Saturday, July 1,
2006 from natural causes. She was born Aug. 26, 1934 in Veedersburg, the
daughter of Josephine Clark and Clare Rudolph McConahay. Her life work was
nursing. As a graduate of Ball State Nurses College, she worked as a registered
nurse at Home Hospital, Lafayette; Huntington Memorial Hospital, Pasadena,
Calif.; and Barstow Community Hospital, Barstow, Calif. After retirement in
2000, She became active in Senior Circle, several volunteer organizations, and
community activities within her community at Holiday Homes. Survivors include:
two sons, Robert Bruce (Sandra) Pitt, Aliso Viejo, Calif. and James Allen
(Amita) Pitt, Long Beach, Calif.; a brother, Rudolf (Sharilyn) McConahay;
sisters, Elizabeth Burcharm, Martha (Harry) Davis, and Gladys (Perry)
Mellifont; and many nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m.
today (Wednesday) in Rockfield Cemetery, near Veedersburg, with the Rev. Rick
