KINGMAN — Leora J. Piske, 95, rural Kingman, died at 7 a.m., Thursday, July 1, 1999 at Covington Manor Health Care Center. She had resided there 13 days. Born Feb. 6, 1904 in Freeburg, Ill., she was the daughter of Marcus E. and Maudia Durham Rogers. She married Arlie Day May 12, 1924. Her second marriage was to Herbert Piske in 1949. She formerly served as a clerk for an office supply company. She was a member of the Lutheran Church. She was a seamstress. Survivors include: daughter, Helen (Elisha) Pithoud, Kingman; son, Wilbur Day, Escondido, Calif.; sister, Melba Hepp, Belleville, Ill.; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son, Russell Day in 1947; and two grandchildren. By her request, her remains are being donated to medical science. A private family memorial service was at 2 p.m., Saturday at Woodrow Funeral Home, Kingman, with the Rev. Steve Hayes officiating. – jlr
