COVINGTON, Ind. (CNS) – Raleigh Pierce, 85, of Covington, died at 3:08 a.m. today (April 22, 1976) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. He was admitted a short time earlier after suffering a heart attack. Born Oct. 15, 1890, in Warren County, he was the son of George and Melissa Catherine Remsberg. In 1912, he married Amanda May Palmer, who died in 1935. In 1937, he married Pearl Miller Bever, who died in 1965. On Dec. 21, 1973, he married Leona Storey Barnett, who survives. A resident of the Attica area most of his life, he moved to Covington in 1973. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Attica Assembly of God Church and attended the Covington Assembly of God Church. Survivors include a son, Robert of Attica; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ellen Hayden of Covington; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. EST Saturday at the Covington Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Edgar Allen officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today. -– jlr
