Mrs. Lee Pickell, affectionately known by her legion of friends as Cathy Pickell passed on Tuesday May 29, 1962.  She was born in Yeddo, Indiana and attended grade school there, and after graduating, attended high school at Kingman, Ind. After graduating from high school, she matriculated at the Indiana State Teachers College in Terre Haute. After her graduation there she taught in the Terre Haute schools for several years. Cathy met Lee Pickell about this time and after he graduated as a civil engineer from Rose Polytechnical Institute they were married.  Lee was hired by the Louisville Gas & Electric Company as construction engineer. He remained with this company for 20 years all of which time he and Cathy resided in Louisville, Ky. They returned to Indiana and to Yeddo about 15 years ago where he operated his own bridge construction business which necessitated their moving to Hillsboro where they have lived happily for the past 10 years. Cathy was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority national college sorority and Business and Professional Women’s Organization.  Her principal pride and dedication was her membership in the OES, Yeddo Chapter 313 of which she was a past Worthy Matron.  She was a pst Deputy of District 16. Cathy felt she was combining a civic duty and a moral one with this office, a service to God and Country. We know this was a highlight in her life and brought much joy to her. She was a pst president of the Centennial Cemetery League and actively participated in all the organization efforst.  Cathy is survived by her husband, Lee; her mother, Mrs. Nelle George Beal of Yeddo and Hillsboro, an aunt, Mrs. Mary Sinea Hoagland and several cousins. Mrs. Cathy Pickell passed on to the eternal rest leaving a host of saddened relatives and friends who will remember her for her uniform love and devotion to them and for all the virtues she possessed.  God has taken her unto Him may she rest in peace.
