Last Thursday evening the home of Mr. And Mrs. James Phipps of  Harveysburg was saddened beyond any description when the death angel called and took away their three year old daughter, Ruby.   Her illness was typhoid fever and it was severe but she bore her aches and pains with patience.  Ruby was a bright star in this home and her loss will be mourned by all who knew her.  She was kind and sweet and loved by all. The remains were laid to rest in the Harveysburg cemetery – thanks to “S” for the typing

Ruby Jenice Phipps was born June 4 1904, and departed this life July 11 1907, being three years, one month and seven days old.  She was never a strong child and was rather delicate all through her short life.  Her last sickness which was lingering finally developed into typhoid fever which lasted something over 3 weeks at the end of which death claimed her as its victim.  Little Ruby just budded in this world where sin abounds.  The Lord hath said Grace thank God did much more abound, so the Lord has called her to the heaven above.  Though she budded in this world she has bloomed in Heaven above where sickness, sorrow and pain are felt nor feared no more. She was preceded in death by her mother, three brothers and one sister.  Her mother departed this life November 26 1906, preceding this one 7 months and 15days. She leaves a father, 2 sisters and one brother and many relatives to mourn her departure.  But not as those having no hope their loss is her eternal gain.- thanks to “S”
