PHIPPS, Roy Maxwell - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Roy Phipps, age 56, a former Rockville resident, was found dead in bed last Thursday at his home in Michigan City. He had been in ill health since suffering a stroke several weeks ago. Mr. Phipps, a guard at the Michigan City State Prison for many years was born in Mecca, the son of the late George and Mary Phipps. He was a graduate of Rockville HS. Surv. include the widow Katherine; two children, Mary Katherine and George, both at home and a sister, Mrs. Doris Pence of Rockville. Funeral services were held at 4:30 Monday afternoon at the Carlisle Funeral Home in Mich City, followed by burial in Eastwood Cemetery there.
