Charles Donald Philpott, 86, of Crawfordsville and formerly of rural Veedersburg, died at 4:40 p.m. Friday in Culver Union Hospital. Mrs. Philpott retired in 1977 from R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co., where he worked in the bindery department. He had lived in Crawfordsville for the past two years. He was a 1930 graduate of Kingman High School and a member of Yeddo Baptist Church. He was born March 29 1912 at Kingman to Glenn emery and Ava Pearl Marshall Philpott. He married Thelma L. Flint April 25 1941. Surviving are two sons, David W. of Noblesville and Stephen E. of Hillsboro; a brother Lloyd of Romney; two sisters, Ena Elmore of Waynetown and Lois Melvin of Crawfordsville; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Three brothers and a sister are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday in Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 S. Indiana 25, Waynetown, with the Revs. Wayne Manago and Bill Grimes officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
