PHILLIPS, Ransom

Ransom Phillips, Rt. 2, Covington, died Thursday, Jan. 9, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill.
He was born Sept. 29, 1898, in Vermilion County Ill, the son of Jesse and Sarah Stickler Phillips. He was married Sept. 3, 1920, to Gladys Ellingwood, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Isabel) Price, Danville, Ill.; Mrs. Carl (Margaret) Allison, Rt. 2, Covington; one son, Earl Phillips, Rt. 5, Danville; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Sprague.
He was a farmer all his life and had been semi-retired 11 years. He was a resident of the State Line area most of his life and a member of the State Line Christian Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Jan. 11 at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with the Rev. Jerry Kissinger officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. – thanks to S
