PHILLIPS, Firma Duchene - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Kingman - Funeral services were conducted this morning for Firma E. Phillips, 82, formerly of Kingman. She died at 5 a.m. Saturday in Covington Manor Health Care Center, where she had been a resident the past 15 months. She was a prominent oil painter and many of her works had been displayed in Parke & Fountain counties. She was a charter member of the Parke Co. Art League and 1930 graduate of Kingman HS. She was born Sept 3, 1911 at Veedersburg to Firmin & Hattie Ellingowood Duchene. Her husband, Glenn Phillips preceded her in death on Feb 24, 1962. Survivors include one sister, Marjorie Anbert of Detroit, Mi and three nieces and two nephews. Two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death. Kenneth Majors officiated at the services and burial was in Washington Cemetery south of Casey, Ill. The Woodrow Funeral Home at Kingman was in charge of arrangements.
