Kingman - Benjamin Harrison Phillips, 84-year-old retired Peoria & Eastern RR Employee, died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday at Ben Hur Home in Crawfordsville where he had been a patient since Aug 18. A native of Washington County, he was born Dec 20, 1885 to James & Renna Spurgeon Phillips. He was married to Rosa Buchanan who died in 1949. Mr. Phillips formerly live din Urbana, ill. He had lived here with a daughter, Mrs. Emory (Beulah) Ellis since Nov 1, 1951. He was a member of Urbanan's Grace United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ted (Edith) Everman of Champaign, and Mrs. Ellis; a grandchild and 3 great grandchildren and a brother, Alfred Phillips of Indianapolis. 8 brothers and 4 sisters are deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Renner-Wikoff Funeral Home in Urbanan with Rev. Joseph Bryan the minister and burial in Woodlawn Cem in Urbana.
