Arthur L. “Bud” Pheneger, 66, of 407 E. Seventh, Fowler died Saturday, Feb. 18, 1978 in Home Hospital in Lafayette. He had been ill for six weeks. Mr. Pheneger had been a semi truck driver. He was a member of the Fowler Presbyterian Church and Benton County Country Club. His son, William McCall, is the fire chief of Attica. Born Aug. 15, 1911, in Attica, he was the son of Charles and Alice Points Pheneger. He had resided in Attica before moving to Fowler 25 years ago. On April 16, 1943, in Covington he married Mildred Stevens, who survives. Other survivors besides his son, William McCall of Attica include a daughter, Mrs. Keith (Dianna) Batts of Otterbein; two sisters, Mrs. William (Alwilda) Pattengale of Attica and Mrs. Mary Downing of Layette; a brother, Charles Pheneger of Crystal Lake Ill; and three grandchildren. Services Tuesday at the Maus Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald Cooper officiating. Burial in the Riverside Cemetery at Attica. The family has requested that any memorials be in the form of donations to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation. – jlr
