PEYTON, Lucretia - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Lucretia Catherine “Katie” Peyton of RR 2, Covington, age 76, died Thursday afternoon, April 15, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Illinois. She was born in Vermillion County, February 2, 1906, the daughter of Charles E. and Mary Ellen Swank Smith. August 25, 1923, she married Charles W. Peyton, who survives. Mrs. Peyton was a member of First Church of Christ, Vermillion County Home Extension Club, Covington Senior Citizens and the Farm Bureau.

  Surviving are a daughter, Vivian Schultz of Danville, Illinois; a son, William Earl of Covington; a sister, Bertha Cole of Covington; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A son, Charles Curtis, died in service in World War II.

  Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. James Daniels and Paul Kent officiating. Burial was in Lower Mound Cemetery. - s
