DANVILLE, ILL. — Mrs. Cordelia Reid Petet, age 79, of 940 Kingdom, mother of Mrs. Lula VanLeer of State Line, Ind., died at 11:05 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, in St. Elizabeth Hospital where she had been a patient one month. She was born July 16, 1887, in Burning Springs, Ky., the daughter of Pierce and Sally Reid. She was married to Terrence Petet, who preceded her in death in 1963. She attended the Methodist Church. Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Polly Finley of Fairmount, Ill., and Mrs. VanLeer of State Line; one step-daughter, Mrs. Lillian Johnson of Danville; one sister, Mrs. Mary Jarrett of Attica, Ind.; seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and three brothers. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Barrick & Son Funeral Home here. The Rev. James Puzey officiated and burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery here. --typed by Walt W
