CATES – Mrs. Minnie Perry, 87, residing near Cates on Rt. 1, Kingman, died early Sunday morning in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill., where she had been admitted late Saturday afternoon. She was born in Indiana on April 20, 1887, a daughter of Thomas and Melissa Newnum Allen. She married William Perry, who died in 1958. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Geneva Beal of near Veedersburg, Mrs. Clarence (Maxine) Wilson of Perrysville, Mrs. Leslie (Connie) Warwick of near Cayuga and Mrs. William (Ramona) Stonebraker of near Kingman; four sons, Gerald of near Veedersburg, Ralph (Sonny) of Rt. 1, Bloomingdale, and Farrell and Leon, at home; 23 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, a step-granddaughter and step-great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Mrs. Opha Cates of Covington, and a niece and two nephews. Two brothers and two sisters are deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Woodrow Funeral Home at Kingman, with Robert Walder officiating and burial in Cooper’s Chapel Cemetery near Covington. Friends may call at the funeral home at 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. – jlr

Kingman, Ind. Mrs. Minnie E. Perry, of Kingman Route 1, died at 2:10 a.m. Sunday Sept 29 1974, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville Ill. She had been a patient a day. Born April 20 1887, she was the daughter of Thomas and Melissa Newnum Allen. She was married to William Perry who died in 1958. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Geneva Beal of Veedersburg, Mrs. Clarence (Maxine) Wilson of Perrysville and Mrs. Leslie (Connie) Wanick Jr. and Mrs. William (Ramona) Stonebraker both of Kingman Route 2; four sons, Gerald of Veedersburg Route 2, Ralph "Sonny' of Bloomingdale and Farell and Leon both at home; a sister Mrs. Orpha Cates of Covington; 23 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a step granddaughter; a step great grandchild; a niece and two nephews. Two sons, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Woodrow Funeral Home with Robert Walder officiating. Burial will be in Coopers Chapel Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.
