John D. Perry, 73, retired coal miner and resident of Wabash Township in Fountain County for many years, died Sunday at 11:30 p.m. at his residence on Rt. 2, Veedersburg. He had been ill for five months. Mr. Perry was born Sept. 20, 1889, the son of Edward and Sarah Llewellen Perry. He was married to Eva Witsman in 1915. She died in 1918. He was the last of a family of four brothers. Survivors are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. Rev. Alfred Dobbs will officiate. Burial will be in the Cooper’s Cemetery southwest of Veedersburg. Friends may call at the funeral home.
