COVINGTON – Clara Ellen Garrison Peaveler, 63, of Rt. 1, died at her residence at 4:45 p.m. Saturday. She had been ill many years. Mrs. Peaveler had been a resident of Covington since 1970. She had been employed at Switzer Corp. at Indianapolis prior to that. She was a member of Englewood Chapter 483 Order of Eastern Star and Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Born Oct. 11, 1913, in Warren County, she was a daughter of John P. and Beatrice Stephens Garrison. She married Vaughn Peaveler on March 23, 1946, at Indianapolis. He survives. Also surviving are her mother of Rt. 1, Covington; two brothers, Warren Keith of Rt. 2, Williamsport, and Richard Lee of Rt. 1, Covington, three sisters, Mrs. Harry (Berniece) Salts of Rt. 1, West Lebanon, Mrs. Fred (Rose Emma) Allen of Villa Grove, Ill., and Mrs. James (Virginia) Arthur of Aster, Fla.; two stepchildren, Mrs. James (Mildred Marie) Stump of Reseda, Calif., and Robert E. Peaveler of Chino, Calif.; nine step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home with the Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial will be in West Lebanon Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. - jlr

Mrs. Clara
Ellen Peaveler, 63, died at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 25, 1976, at her
residence on Covington Route 1 following an illness of several years.
A Covington Route
1 resident since 1970, she formerly lived in Indianapolis and was employed by
the Schweitzer Corp. there.
Born near Marshfield
Oct. 11, 1913, she was the daughter of John P. and Beatrice Stevens Garrison.
On March 23, 1946,
she was married to Vaughn Peaveler in Indianapolis and he survives.
Other survivors
include her mother, Mrs. Beatrice Garrison of Covington Route 1; two
stepchildren, Mrs. James (Mildred) Stump of Roseda, Calif.; and Robert E.
Peaveler of Chino, Calif.; two brothers, Warren Keith Garrison of Williamsport
Route 2, and Richard L. of Covington Route 1; and three sisters, Mrs. Harry
(Bernice) Salts of West Lebanon Route 1, Mrs. Fred (Rose Emma) Allen of Villa
Grove, Ill. and Mrs. James (Virginia) Arthur of Astor, Fla. There are several
nieces and nephews, nine step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
Her father preceded
her in death.
She was a member of
Englewood Chapter 483 Order of the Eastern Star, Indianapolis and attended the
Mt. Carmel Church.
The Rev. Alfred
Dobbs officiated and burial was in West Lebanon Cemetery. – s
