Delcy Pearson, daughter of Elisha and Margaret Ratcliff Pithoud, was born in Fountain County, Aug. 8, 1873 and departed this life in a hospital in Marion, Indiana, May 11, following a stroke which occurred May 3. On March 20, 1895, Delcy was united in marriage to Charles Pearson and after the first year of their married life, which was spent in the home of her parents, they established a home in Parke County where they lived for several years, later moving to Benton County and then to Blackford County, where they took over the management of the County Farm until the ill health of Charles forced them to resign this position. Later they bought a home in Mathews, Indiana where they lived for the past two years. She and her husband were devoted to each other and she has tenderly cared for him in his affliction. He was taken to the hospital at the same time with her, and is in a serious condition at this time.Delcy was the seventh daughter of a family of eight children, namely Juliet, Zerilda, Hannah, Margaret, Delphina, Army, Delcy and Lemuel E. All have preceded her in death except the brother, Lemuel, to whose home the body was taken from the Fishero Funeral Home in Veedersburg.
